Key rights under Directive (EU) 2015/2302

  • Travelers will receive all essential information about the package travel before they enter into the package travel contract.
  • There is always at least one trader who is responsible for ensuring that all travel services included in the contract are properly performed.
  • Travelers are provided with an emergency telephone number or details of a contact point where they can reach the organizer or the travel agency.
  • Travelers may transfer the package travel to another person, with reasonable notice and possibly for an additional charge.
  • The price of the package may only be increased if particular costs rise (for example fuel prices), and if this is expressly stated in the contract, and in any event no later than 20 days before the start of the package. If the price is increased by more than 8% of the price of the package, the traveler may terminate the contract. If the organizer reserves the right to increase the price, the traveler is entitled to a price reduction if the relevant costs fall.
  • Travelers may terminate the contract without paying a cancellation fee and receive a full refund of all payments if any other essential element of the package, other than the price, is significantly changed. If the trader responsible for the package cancels the package before its start, travelers are entitled to a refund and compensation, where applicable.
  • Travelers may, under exceptional circumstances, terminate the contract before the start of the package without paying a cancellation fee, for example in the event of serious security problems at the destination that are likely to affect the package.
  • In addition, travelers may at any time before the start of the package terminate the contract against a reasonable and justified cancellation fee.
  • If significant parts of the package cannot be provided in accordance with the contract after the start of the package, appropriate alternative arrangements must be offered at no extra cost. Travelers may terminate the contract without paying a cancellation fee if the services are not performed in accordance with the contract and this substantially affects the performance of the package and the organizer does not remedy the problem.
  • Travelers are also entitled to a price reduction and/or compensation for damages if the travel services are not performed or are performed defectively.
  • The organizer must provide assistance if the traveler is in difficulty.
  • If the organizer or, in certain Member States, the retailer becomes insolvent, payments will be refunded. If the organizer or, where applicable, the retailer becomes insolvent after the start of the package and if transport is included in the package, travelers' return transport home will be secured.
  • DGAB has taken out insolvency protection with "YZ (the entity responsible for insolvency protection, e.g. a guarantee fund or an insurance undertaking)". Travelers may contact this entity or, where applicable, the competent authority Kammarkollegiet, Birger Jarlsgatan 16, 114 34 Stockholm, 08-700 08 00, registratur@kammarkollegiet.se if services are not provided as a result of DGAB's insolvency.
