Conducted by the Fire and Medical Care Academy www.brasak.se on behalf of Destination Gotland.
Medical Care, Shipboard Medic
Aimed at those who will serve as responsible for medical care on board a ship, either as the master or the person he/she appoints.
The training is held over 5 days, with a mix of theory and practice. In addition, 2 days of practical training at a suitable medical facility are required.
The course covers what is stated in STCW 2010 regulation VI/4-2
Completion of the approved training forms the basis for the certificate issued by the Swedish Transport Agency.
The certificate is valid for 5 years.
Course length: 5 + 2 days
Location: Visby
Cost: SEK 12,000 excl. VAT. Lunch and refreshments included.
Refresher: Medical Care, Shipboard Medic
To renew the certificate, one must complete a refresher course.
Course length: 4 days. Theory and practice (1 day of practical medical exercises instead of a placement at an emergency department)

Entry requirement: Certificate as a shipboard medic
Cost: SEK 9,000 excl. VAT. Lunch and refreshments included.
