How the Boat Bus works

Timetable and routes - Timetable: You can find the boat bus departures and journey planner here - Routes: The Nynäshamn–Stockholm–Arlanda–Uppsala route operates year-round, while the other seasonal routes are adapted to selected departures and arrivals of the Gotland ferry - Times: The boat bus arrives at the port terminal approximately one hour before the boat's departure - Connections: The boat bus stops at travel centres and stations where it is easy to transfer to other modes of transport - Delays: In case of delays, contact the ferry terminal you are traveling to. Our staff will help you contact the bus and ensure your journey can be completed Tickets How to book - Add a bus ticket when you book the ferry journey - Or add it afterwards via the link in the email before departure - Advance booking guarantees a seat How the ticket works - Valid only for the selected journey/departure - A valid ferry ticket is required to book a bus ticket - The price depends on the starting point and destination Buying a ticket - Buy online up to 1 hour before departure from the bus's starting point - Nynäshamn–Stockholm: tickets can be purchased on board the vessel - Other routes: advance booking required Children & groups - Up to 2 children (0–12 years) travel free per paying adult with a pre-purchased bus ticket - Groups (minimum 10 people): contact our group travel department. Tickets are valid if the entire group travels together on the same departure When boarding, show one of the following: - Email confirmation from Destination Gotland (on your smartphone or printed) - Ticket purchased on board the Gotland ferry (applies only to the Nynäshamn–Gullmarsplan–Cityterminalen route) Contact Do you have questions about the bus ticket? 0771-22 33 00 Traveling children - Children over 13 years: May travel alone - Children under 13 years: Must travel with an adult companion On board the boat bus Baggage - Only one small piece of hand luggage per passenger is allowed in the bus cabin (maximum dimensions: 40x30x20 cm) - Bulky luggage such as surfboards and golf equipment can be carried if space permits - Bicycles can be carried free of charge if they are packed in protective packaging and space is available - You are responsible for your luggage, even when it is not within your direct supervision E-scooter - Only foldable e-scooters are allowed - They are considered hand luggage and may be carried free of charge if folded and no longer than 120 cm - Must be stored in the bus's luggage compartment – not allowed inside the passenger area of the bus - Should be in a transport bag or cover that protects both the bus and other passengers' luggage - Charging on board is not permitted, neither in the passenger area nor in the luggage compartment Accessibility - The buses have steps and lack ramps or lifts. You need to be able to board by yourself - The driver is happy to assist with packing wheelchairs or luggage, but does not lift people For your safety - All buses are equipped with seat belts – use them - Booster cushions for children over 3 years are available on board. Infant carriers or child seats can be brought and secured with a three-point seat belt Food and drink - You may bring and consume food and drink on board, but please take care to avoid spills - Alcohol is prohibited. Intoxicated or disruptive passengers may be refused travel Pets - Companion animals are welcome on board free of charge. For everyone's comfort, please keep your animal on a leash or in a carrier for the duration of the journey - If you travel with a furry pet, please sit well towards the back of the bus to accommodate passengers with allergies Wi‑Fi and charging: - Free Wi‑Fi and power outlets are available on board Environmentally friendly transport - The boat buses are powered by HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), a renewable fuel that helps reduce climate impact
