Already in 2003 we certified our environmental management and quality management systems according to ISO 9001 and 14001, and over the years we have taken a number of measures to improve both the working environment and the world’s climate – as part of our ambition to offer world-class sea transport We know that climate and the environment are among the most important issues and challenges in today’s society. We have a great responsibility resting on our shoulders when it comes to reducing our impact on the climate and the environment. As the operator between Gotland and the mainland, we need not only to ensure safe and secure ferry traffic – we also need to do it in a sustainable way The global development agenda - Agenda 2030 – adopted by the UN in 2015, contains 17 global goals for sustainable development. Agenda 2030 includes, among other things, goals for greenhouse gas emissions, the oceans and marine resources, sustainable consumption and gender equality Sweden has a national climate target that means net zero emissions by 2045 at the latest. At Destination Gotland we intend to reach the national climate target, which is more ambitious than the goals globally and within the EU Sustainability goals Destination Gotland has decided on several sustainability goals. Some of these are: - Climate-neutral crossings between Gotland and the mainland by 2045 at the latest - Zero vision for oil spills into the marine environment - The amount of food waste shall be halved by 2030 - Zero vision for workplace accidents
