Code of Conduct for Sponsorships & Collaborations

These points ensure a responsible and ethical partnership, in line with Destination Gotland's values and objectives.

All partners, associations, organizations and companies we cooperate with must always comply with Swedish legislation and international standards.

Zero tolerance for misconduct

We have zero tolerance for all forms of misconduct, such as discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and violence. This applies in all contexts where Destination Gotland is represented, whether within corporate structures, community associations or other organizations.

All actors – coaches, leaders and cultural managers – are expected to actively work for a safe, inclusive and respectful environment.

Partners should regularly review their procedures and initiate action programmes to ensure that the principles are followed. In case of violations the issues must be reported and addressed immediately.

Sustainability and working conditions

A sustainable working environment is as important for associations and organizations as it is for companies. We expect all partners, including non-profit associations, sports clubs and partner organisations, to work for fair conditions and a balance between commitment and leisure time.

This includes reasonable conditions for all involved, whether they are employees, volunteers or contributors.

Health and safety

For Destination Gotland it is of utmost importance that all partners, including associations and organizations, actively work for a safe and healthy working environment.

This means that sponsored organizations and associations take preventive measures to protect everyone involved from accidents and illnesses, and promote health and well-being in all activities.

These principles are fundamental whether they concern a workplace, an event, a sports activity or a non-profit gathering.

Prohibition of child labour and forced labour

At Destination Gotland we clearly disassociate ourselves from child labour and forced labour in all its forms. This applies not only within our own operations but also throughout our supply chain, including with our partners and their subcontractors.

To ensure that these principles are complied with, we have:

  • Requirements for our partners: All our partners, both inside and outside Sweden, must confirm in writing that they comply with international standards such as the ILO conventions against child labour and forced labour
  • Monitoring and audits: We conduct regular checks and spot checks through internal audits to ensure that our partners meet our requirements

Environmental and climate responsibility

We expect all our partners, including associations and organizations, to actively work to reduce their impact on the environment and the climate.

It is important that these actors comply with applicable environmental legislation and have a clear plan and strategy to reduce their climate impact across their operations.

Bribery and corruption

We have zero tolerance for corruption and bribery. This applies to all our collaborations, whether they involve companies, associations or organizations.

We expect our partners to act with honesty, transparency and adhere to ethical guidelines, and to actively prevent corruption in their operations.

Policy reporting

We expect all partners to have clear policies that reflect the principles of the code of conduct and are integrated into daily work.

Policies must be documented and accessible, and there must be a readiness to report on how they are complied with when necessary.

This means that concrete measures and decisions that support the principles must be able to be reported. For follow-up we may require regular reports or carry out spot checks to ensure that the principles are followed.

Brand protection

All our partners are expected to act in line with our values to strengthen and preserve trust in our brand.

In the event of breaches of the code of conduct it is crucial that the partner immediately informs us and takes appropriate measures to minimize the damage. Together we will develop an effective communication strategy to protect our shared brand.

Non-compliance

If a partner does not comply with these requirements Destination Gotland has the right to terminate the partnership.

This code aims to promote responsible and ethical business relationships, in line with Destination Gotland's values and principles.
