Start in Roma with the basics of truffles and how to read your dog. Continued in Östergarn with scent training and guided field search in the terrain. Truffles included!
The truffle is often called the black gold of the forest. Truffles are found in Gotland's beautiful oak and hazel woodlands. You will learn about truffles in the soil, truffles in food and how truffle dogs work. It is fascinating to watch the dogs at work. Different truffles have slightly different scents; during the hunt you will have the chance to smell the truffles that are uncovered. Every truffle hunter has their own view on how to use truffles in cooking. During the hunt, participants and hunters often discuss how to bring out the truffle's wonderful flavors in cooking.

Welcome to a popular science seminar led by truffle doctor Christina Wedén. Christina Wedén will begin with the latest news from the truffle world. An invited guest will talk about the truffle in one of our neighboring countries. This Year's Truffle Chef will give us insight into how they use truffle in food. We look forward to a very interesting seminar.
For those who want to take the opportunity to enjoy truffles in every possible way, both Saturday and Sunday. A Saturday with interesting and appetizing seminars, a beautiful ceremony in the Cathedral, a fantastic six-course gourmet dinner with truffle in every dish and matching wines. On Sunday we head out into the fields on a truffle hunt with trained truffle dogs.
We begin with an atmospheric truffle ceremony in the Cathedral including the awarding of this year's truffle chef, beautiful singing and music. After the ceremony we walk down to the Mirror Foyer at Clarion Hotel Wisby for mingling, a pre-dinner drink and the first course as part of a food walk. Thereafter the remaining five courses are served in our six-course gourmet dinner with truffle in every dish and matching wines in the Mirror Hall. The dinner is prepared by Gotland's elite truffle chefs who collaborate with the chefs of the future — our students in the Restaurant and Food Programme in Visby. We tested this concept for the first time in 2024 with an outstanding result.
