Information regarding transport

Destination Gotland's travel info for freight and cargo.

  • Check that your travel document /confirmation matches your booking.
  • Check-in opens at least 1 hour and 30 minutes before departure. Please arrive well in advance to avoid queuing. Please note that the check-in for vehicles with driver closes 20 minutes before departure. Check-in of unaccompanied vehicles must take place no later than 2 hours before departure. Check the business hours for the terminal at the port of departure or contact the cargo booking department.
  • Verifying of identification will be done at check-in.
  • The driver or carrier must be able to present the necessary transport documents at check-in, for example booking confirmation, stowage certificate or cleaning certificate.
  • Vehicles that are booked (incl. trailers, wagons or machines booked without towing vehicle) must have a functioning parking brake in order to be transported.
  • Unaccompanied vehicles need to be registered and fully operational. Vehicles that do not start or that are deemed by the staff in port or by the crew on board to be in poor condition may be refused boarding.
  • Unaccompanied vehicles with alcolocks need to be fitted with at least two new unused blow nozzles. Unaccompanied vehicles with alcolocks not provided with these will not be loaded.
  • Unaccompanied tractors, loaders and other agricultural vehicles need to have a brief and concise operating instruction with them. If this is not included in the vehicle, it will not be loaded on the ship.
  • Unaccompanied passenger cars will be checked visually for any visible damage in connection with check-in. Any protocol from the inspection needs to be signed by the carrier. Please notify the check-in staff in advance if there is any known damage to the vehicle.

Payment terms

Unless otherwise agreed, shipping must be paid no later than before check-in.

PAYMENT IN CONNECTION WITH CHECK-IN
It is also possible to pay by credit/debit card at check-in. In case of late booking, change or payment at the terminal cashier less than 1 hour before departure, a handling fee of SEK 100 will be added.

Booking terms

Until 1 May 2024

The ticket is rebookable and refundable.

From 2 May 2024

The ticket is rebookable and refundable until 16:00 the day before the scheduled departure.

  • In case of cancellation after 16:00 on the day before the scheduled departure, a fee of half the amount of the cancelled ticket will be charged.
  • If a change is made after 16:00 on the day before the booked departure, a fee of half the difference between the new and previous price will be incurred.
  • In case of no show, a fee corresponding to the full amount of the ticket will be incurred*

* A no-show is a booked unit that is cancelled within one (1) hour before departure time or does not arrive at departure without cancelling the ticket in advance.

Good to know

LASHING BRACKETS
All freight units may, with regards to the ship's safety, need to be secured with lashings on board. If the lashing brackets are not fitted in accordance with the Swedish Transport Agency's guidelines, the unit will not be loaded on board in such a situation.

DANGEROUS GOODS
Dangerous goods are accepted for transport only with written consent. Transport of dangerous goods takes place in accordance with The Memorandum of Understanding for the Transport of Dangerous Goods on Ro-Ro Ships in the Baltic Sea or the IMDG Code. Booking of dangerous goods must take place no later than 24 hours on weekdays before the planned departure time.

Units carrying dangerous goods must be marked as dangerous in an appropriate manner.

UNACCOMPANIED GOODS
The port areas are only intended for a short parking prior to boarding in the departure terminal and for exit from the arrival terminal.

Goods that are transported unaccompanied may be checked in at the port of departure no earlier than 24 hours before departure and must be collected at the port of arrival within 24 hours after scheduled arrival*

COLLECTION OF UNACCOMPANIED VEHICLES OR GOODS UNITS
Collection of unaccompanied vehicles or goods units is possible during the terminals business hours. When collecting, the recipient must be able to present booking number and identify themselves by showing valid identification.
